Richo Kicks Off Grassroots in Tassie

The GSC has kicked off in Tasmania, with the first lunch being held in Hobart on Saturday 3rd September.

Securing Tasmanian and Richmond legend Matthew Richardson as guest speaker obviously created a lot of interest, with a crowd of 110 turning up to enjoy the Boags flavoured atmosphere.

Richo spoke at length about his career, his perspective on AFL life and the influence that a streaker can have on a game. The crowd were clearly captivated by Richo’s analysis of AFL goal kicking statistics and the big fella’s place amongst the (other) greats!!

Grassroots Committee Member Dan Clohesy also introduced the fundraising philosophy of Grassroots to the Tassie crowd, and how local kids and communities can benefit from our support. Andrew Blackett representing Edmund Rice Camps as the nominated Tasmanian charity also took the stage to speak about his organisations positive work in the community.

A flood of positive feedback has been received following the event, and everyone is already fired up for next year.

A very big thank you to Richo for donating his time to the event along with our sponsors Boags, Treasury Wines, Lark Distillery and Ratho Golf.
